Two charged for manufacturing imitation paint

Accra, Feb 17, GNA – Two persons have been put before an Accra Circuit Court for manufacturing paint and packaging it in a company’s container with its logo.

The two Ibrahim Abubakari and Abubakari Mohamed, both painters, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Presiding Judge, Jernifer Tagoe granted the accused persons bail in the sum of five million cedis each and ordered them to reappear on March 3.

Prosecuting, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Eric Amoako, told the court that the Administrative Manager of Banson Comapany Limited, had a tip-off that some people were manufacturing different brands of paint including that of his company at Kokomlemle in Accra. DSP Amoako said on January 26, the Administrative Manager reported the case to the Police who went to the scene to find the two persons filling four containers with the imitation paint and they were arrested.
