A Kumasi Circuit Court has sentenced two Cameroonian Nationals to three years imprisonment each in hard labour for stealing scratch cards and assorted mobile phones all valued at GHc28,337.00, belonging to MTN, Ghana.
The convicts known in Court documents as Emmanuel Akohni Chinwe, 25 and Jonathan Fomusah Ndifor, 22, both unemployed, who arrived in the country this April, denied the charges of unlawful entry, stealing and causing damage.
Prosecution told the Court, presided over by Madam Comfort Tasiame that, the two, taking advantage of the absence of a security man, broke into the mobile communication offices at Susuanso in Kumasi, in the night of May 11, this year, and stole the cash, assorted mobile phones and scratch cards.
Chinwe and Ndifor settled at Kotei Deduako in Kumasi and were arrested by the police on intelligence on May 22, after the case was reported.
During Police investigations, a search was conducted at their residence and a quantity of the scratch cards, three Samsung mobile phones and two power banks, all the properties of MTN Ghana, were found in their possession.
In their cautioned statement, Chinwe and Ndifor admitted the offences and they were charged.
