Begoro (Eastern Region), 16 Oct. Two brothers who allegedly attempted to strip naked a national sprinter, Miss Agnes Afiyoe, have appeared before a community tribunal at Begoro charged with assault. They are Peter Odja, 19 and Tetteh Narh, 20, who pleaded not guilty to the charge and were remanded in custody for one week. Police Inspector D.D. Yorkyile, prosecuting, told the tribunal chaired by Mr. Paul Affum that Miss Afiyoe was returning from Dominase to Begoro on October 10, when she met the accused persons who picked up a quarrel with her. Inspector Yorkyile said in the process, Odja plunged his two fingers into the nostril of Afiyoe, and his accomplice, Narh, tried to strip her naked to ascertain if she (Afiyoe) was really a female. Afiyoe, an athletic star, was a revelation during the last national athletic trials in Kumasi.
