Two aspiring NPP National Organisers campaign in Volta Region

Ho, Dec 05, GNA – An aspiring National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Sunday challenged other contestants for the position to come up with solutions to the party’s problems instead of highlighting them.

Mr Iddrisu Musah Superior said people seemed to know the problems of the party, from polling agents to the presidency, but they lacked the basic principles and mechanism to be used to solve these problems. Mr Superior told journalists that the entire membership of the NPP was determined to put the party focused towards the ” most critical elections in 2008″ rather than the unproductive continuous arguments over issues of administration and management of the party and the government.

He said he had solutions to the many problems facing the party and appealed to all delegates to critically assess the proposals of all aspirants before casting their votes at the forthcoming delegates congress in the interest of the party.

Mr Superior said he would create a website for the party and provide computers to all regional offices when voted into office. He said he would ensure that a Health and Safety Department was established in the party to take care of injury during elections. Mr Majeed Bawa, who is also vying for the National Youth Organiser position, said what the party needed were managers to bridge the gap between the party and the government. He expressed disappointment at the situation where District Chief executives and ministers were rewarded handsomely after service while party executives got not even ” certificate of appreciation after their tenure”.

Mr Bawa said when elected he would propose a compensation system for party executives since the job involved a lot of sacrifice. He also suggested that constituency executives should play important roles in the selection of district chief executives and that this would help bridge the information gap between the two institutions.
