Two arrested for stealing gold-like regalia

Two young men suspected to have stolen two sack-full of assorted traditional regalia have been arrested in Agbogbloshie Market in Accra.

Although two upon interrogation admitted to stealing the regalia from Kasoa, the Police say they “strongly disbelieve” the admission by the two; a 21-year-old Richard Kwabena Manu and Issu Eliasu, 19 years.

The two suspect told the Police at the Accra Regional Police Command that they stole the items, which included a gold-like traditional sword, chains and bracelets typically worn by chiefs, from the Kasoa pedestrian lane.

According to the Police, the two were spotted at the Agbogbloshie market Tuesday with the items looking suspicious based on which they were arrested.

The Police is meanwhile asking the public, especially those who have had such items stolen, to come forward to assist in investigations.
