The Eastern North Regional Police Command on Thursday, November 13, 2025, arrested two people in possession of narcotics at Amankwakrom along the main Agordeke–Donkorkrom motor road.
According to the police, the suspects have been identified as Yaw Ntoso and Perpetual Ayitey, were arrested when a snap check team intercepted a Kia Bongo truck driven by Ntoso.
During a thorough search, three white sacks containing 135 compressed slabs of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis sativa, wrapped in yellowish cellotape were discovered.
In addition, 21 oval-shaped parcels of a similar substance were recovered from the vehicle.
The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations and will be presented before the court in due course.
Meanwhile, the Eastern North Regional Police Command has reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring public safety in the region.
