Two arrested & detained by Abetifi police over theft

Two people have been arrested and detained by the police in Abetifi over the theft of electronic gadgets valued at about GHC2,960.00.

Eric Amoafo, 32, and his accomplice, a minor, reportedly broke into a room of one Bertha Arthur at Kwahu Abene and made off with her laptop computer, Samsung DVD player, a multi-TV decoder, digital clock, 12-inch latex foam mattress and home appliances.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Yaw Nketia-Yeboah, the Eastern Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the incident happened on April 22, at about 1740 hours.

He said the pair were arrested following a tip off and that the stolen items had been recovered.

He said the suspects would be arraigned to answer for their crime as soon as the police completed their investigation.

He cautioned the public to report to the police people who attempted to sell to them items at ridiculously low prices.
