Two Americans enthroned divisional chiefs in Apam

Apam, Sept. 15, GNA – The chief and people of Apam at the weekend conferred ceremonial chieftaincy titles on two American citizens for their outstanding efforts in providing health and development needs of the communities.

Dr Bob Davis, a Plastic surgeon, was enstooled ‘health promoting chief’ while Mr. Steve Shellenberger, a shipper, was crowned a ‘Development chief’.

The expatriates were among 35 United States volunteers currently on a two-week service at the Apam Catholic Hospital, where the provided health care and social services to the people.

Nana Edu Effirim X, Chief of Apam, said the enthronement was in appreciation of the valuable services rendered by the two expatriates for the Apam area in the past three years.

Mr. Kow Yanney Bondzie, Chairman of Apam town Council, appealed to the two Americans to establish technical or vocational institutions in the town where the youth could acquire employable skills.
