Two Airlink Crash Victims Sue Attorney General

After waiting for almost three years without being compensated by the state, two victims of the June 5 Airlink Crash have filed a suit at an Accra High Court against the Attorney General, seeking a number of reliefs.

Thyron Tetteh Adusu and Mrs Afua Yeboah both of Media Touch Limited are seeking general damages in an amount to be determined after trial, for post, present and prospective pain and suffering.

They are also asking the court to compensate them for bodily disfigurement, deformity, loss of left leg and other loses arising from physical disability.

Other claims include loss of future income, loss of spousal consortium while hospitalized and companionship.

Mr Adusu, Chief Executive Officer of Media Touch, had his left leg amputated and now has scars on his face, right leg, hands and body.

Mrs Afua Yeboah also claims to have suffered broken, misaligned and shortened right leg among others.

Among the serious points, which the plaintiffs are basing their argument on is the allegation that the pilot of the aircraft, negligently crash-landed breaking it into pieces and causing serious injury to the plaintiffs.

The two said they resorted to legal action as a result what appears to be the inability or the refusal of the Attorney General?s department, representing the Republic to settle the issue out of court.
