Twifo-Atii-Morkwa gets new queen

Twifo Atii-Morkwa (C/R), March 21, GNA- The President of the Twifo-Atii Morkwa traditional council, Nana Kwesi Kenin III, on Monday commended the Twifo-Heman-Lower-Denkyira district assembly for improving the socio-economic development of the district. Nana Kenin, who is also the Omanhene of the area made the commendation during the swearing-in of Nana Adjoa Amoa IV, the new queenmother of Atii Morkwa.

He said even though the assembly had done a lot to improve conditions in the district there was still room for improvement and appealed to the assembly to help complete the construction work on the new police station at Atii Morkwa.

The queenmother who succeeds her late mother, Nana Adjoa Amoah III, thanked the chiefs and people of the area for the honour done her and promised to discharge her duties efficiently. She was later carried in a palanquin through the principal streets amidst drumming and dancing. 21 March 07
