Twenty-five Basic schools in Tema receive TV sets

Tema, Dec. 13 GNA – The Tema Municipal Assembly (TMA), on Tuesday presented 25 Television sets to some selected basic schools in the Municipality to enhance the President’s Special Initiative )PSI) on Distant Learning.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. David Quaye Annang, at a short ceremony, explained that the presentation formed part of government’s efforts to bring education closer to people in the country. He said the PSI on learning was introduced as a result of lack of teachers and disparities in the supply of learning materials in schools.. He expressed the hope that the schools would plan their curricular in such a way that a time would be created for the children to benefit from the TV sets.

The Municipal Education’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Ivy Kumi received the items on behalf of the schools and thanked the government for the gesture. She said the items had arrived at the right time when much emphasis has been on quality education. She promised that the items would be put to good use to improve on the education of children in the Municipality.
