Twenty Ashaiman NDC activists defect to NPP

Ashaiman, Sept 20, GNA- Twenty members of the National Democratic Party (NDC) and the Progressive Alliance at Ashaiman have defected to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The defectors, who made this known at a press conference at Ashaiman on Friday, explained that the government’s freedom of expression and rural development among others are convincing enough to draw them to the party.

The Greater Accra Regional Deputy Secretary of the NPP, Mr Eric Kwatia, introduced them at the conference.

Mr Kwatia praised them for taking a bold decision, which is a turning point in their political career saying that the NPP is embarking on politics of truth.

Mr Emmanuel K. Teye, MP for Ashaiman, called on NPP activists to close their ranks to prevent infiltration and campaign for more people to join the party.
