Tumu Hospital adjudged best in Upper West Region

The Tumu Hospital and the Sissala East Health District of the Upper West region has been adjudged the best health facilities in the region.

According to a recent grading of health facilities in the region, it emerged tops out of the 11 districts in the area with the hopes that this could translate to increase in life expectancy in the area.

The hospital also came first during assessment of home visits by health personnel in the area by scoring 84% of out of the total score.

Areas covered includes antenatal, family planning, ANCs, Tetanus,EPI and PNC. The district director of health services Mr. Alex Bapula who disclosed this to Tumu-based Radford Fm was elated and said this was achieved despite the bad road network and difficult working conditions but paid glowing tribute to all health personnel working in the area for the feat achieved.

He urged chiefs to continue to collaborate with the health sector to improve the area.

He reminded the public in the wake of the hot season to keep their windows open to allow for the entry of air into their homes and drink enough water in order to avoid getting CSM he advised residents.
