TUC not against govt decision to sell houses

Accra, March 15, GNA – The Trade Union Congress on Monday gave an assurance that it had no difficulty in principle with government’s decision to sell low cost houses to sitting tenants.

“TUC’s caution, on that occasion was that government should carefully appraise the decision because a number of houses around the country served as ready accommodation for public servants on transfer, a facility that would be lost if those houses were sold,” a statement signed by Mr Kweku Darko Aferi for the Secretary General said.

It said the TUC’s reaction followed recent media reports on the matter, in which some groups had questioned its position on the issue.
