Tsikata Gets 2.5 Million-Cedi Bail

Accra, Sept 2, – Godson Tsikata, a driver who pleaded not guilty to causing harm, was today granted 2.5 million-cedi bail by an Accra circuit tribunal to re-appear on September 19. When Tsikata first appeared before the tribunal on July 14, the court remanded him in custody. Police Inspector Joseph Anneh-Kwame told the court that Tsikata who lives in the same area with Mr Wisdom D. Gavi, a businessman, was once warned during an arbitration to refrain from having illicit dealings with Mr Gavi’s wife. The prosecution said on the night of June 15, this year, Mr Gavi saw Mr Tsikata behind his window. When Mr Gavi attempted to arrest him, he stabbed Mr Gavi who fell bleeding, while Tsikata fled. Mr Gavi was rushed to the Military Hospital for treatment, the prosecution added.
