Former Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Michael Omari Wadie, has described the performance put up by lead counsels for the three respondents in the ongoing presidential election petition during their oral address as “mere propaganda” and rhetoric which did not bother on the constitution.
According to him, it was crystal clear the respondents’ lead counsels found it difficult to execute the task of convincing the nine justices of the Supreme Court; averring that though they were in the courtroom, their presentations were full of propaganda, falsehoods and half-truths.
Speaking on OkayFM, Omari Wadie noted that no law was cited by any of the respondents to defend themselves and their clients.
“…all they were doing was propaganda oral address of which no law was quoted to support their claims except lip services,” he added.
To him, the respondents should have at least alluded to some relevant reference from the constitution and the rules and regulations upon which the 2012 election was conducted; describing that “their oral addresses are amusing to hear as if they were talking to their supporters on the political platform at the Supreme Court”.
In response to Tsatsu Tsikata’s remarks that the petitioners’ case is “legally pathetic”, Omari Wadie averred rather strongly that “he (Tsatsu) is rather physically, spiritually, verbally and legally pathetic”; pointing out that “propaganda cannot and will and not win you any case in Ghana here”.
