Truck splits woman, 56, in two in the Ashanti Region

A 56-year-old woman was killed by a KIA Rhino Truck with registration number AS 3911 – 15 at Aprade Junction in the Ejisu/Juabeng Municipality on Saturday, July 9.

Cecilia Hanson was on her way to her shop at the Kumasi Central Market when the accident occurred.

Metro FM’s Ohene Kwaku Kwakye reported that the deceased was returning from Aprade around 6am to Aprade Junction, which connects the Accra-Kumasi Highway, to board a vehicle to the market where her shop is sited.

The KIA Rhino Truck, which was on top speed from Aprade, run into the woman and dragged her body into a culvert near the road, about five metres away from the spot of the accident.

The body of the deceased was split in two at the waist level. She died immediately.

The driver of the truck has turned himself into the police while the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Juabeng Hospital Morgue.

The Ejisu Police command has begun preliminary investigations into the matter.
