Trotro driver kills minister’s dispatch rider

A dispatch rider of the Ashanti Regional Minister Peter Anarfi Mensah died in a motor crash Thursday.

Lance Corporal Kwaku Duah passed away while leading the minister and his delegation to Kumasi from the commissioning of the Tweapease Health Center at Amansie Central.

A journalist with Shaft FM Daasebre Kojo Antwi told Kumasi-based Ultimate FM that the deceased crashed to death on the Oda bridge.

He said they were on their way to Adwira to represent President John Mahama at another event when the incident occurred.

According to him, on reaching Ahwiankwanta the police dispatch rider collided with a mini bus (Trotro) which was coming from the opposite direction.

“The motor rider leading us crashed with a trotro and unfortunately sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the Bekwai Government Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival,” the journalist reported.

The Ashanti regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) Deputy Police Commander DSP Charles Ahiamale said the body has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) mortuary.
