Tribunal fines ten drivers

Techiman (Brong Ahafo), 25 May,

The Techiman circuit tribunal has fined ten drivers 800,000 cedis or thre months each in default for traffic offences. All the drivers pleaded guilty with explanation and were each fined 80,000 cedis for leaving their vehicles at dangerous positions, parking and picking passengers at unauthorised points. Chief Inspector of Police Asafo Adjei, told the tribunal presided over by Mr. Justice Nicholas Abodakpi that on May 20, this year, a combined team of Police personnel and members of the Techiman district assembly supervisory committee embarked on an exercise to arrest drivers violating road traffic regulations. The tribunal ordered that the fines should be paid before their impounded vehicles are released to them. gri
