Trending GH: Ghanaians disappointed in Mensa Otabil over ‘special offering’

Ghanaians have expressed mixed feelings regarding a picture of some amounts believed to be offerings taken at Dr. Mensah Otabil’s 2017 Greater Works programme.

Captioned ‘special offering’, the picture which has generated mostly condemnation from the general populace has gone viral on social media.

The Special Offering is supposed to be paid to a bank account of the International Central Gospel Church (IGGC).

Sharing their opinions to www.Ghanaweb.com, some have argued that the ‘categorized’ offering is not mandatory while others say it pressures those who do not have to feel inferior adding that offertory is supposed to be within a person’s means.

Musician Kwame Asare Obeng also known as A Plus took to Social Media to criticize churches that use wrong means to ‘extort’ money from their members.

Many other Ghanaians have followed suite by either barraging the Man of God with criticism for allowing his platform to be used for such.

The annual programme hosted by the International Central Gospel Church (IGGC) which has been in existence for more than a decade, is a week long program which started on Monday and has seen massive attendance since.
