TREASON TRIAL

The Special Court trying five persons who allegedly plotted to overthrow the Government of Ghana in 1994 has again been compelled to adjourn to tomorrow by Counsel for the first and fifth accused persons, Mr.. Nyamekye Baah. Counsel claimed that the transcripts of the previous proceedings were made available to him this morning and he could not have enough time to study them. Mr.. Baah said in fairness to the accused persons and himself, the case should be adjourned to enable him to effectively cross-examine the first prosecution witness, Lance Corporal Emmanuel Amoah, who was then in the box. Mr.. Baah, who made the same application at the two previous sittings was supported by Mr.. Peter Ala Adjetey, Counsel for the second accused person, Kwame Ofori Appiah. The three-member Special Court is presided over by Mr.. Justice Owusu-Sekyere. End
