Travellers Adviced On Gambia

The Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, Akwasi Osei Adjei, has advised Ghanaians planning to enter Europe through Gambia to rescind their decision and adopt legally established procedures. The Deputy Minister told Kapital Radio that the route has been identified as unsafe following the killing of eight Ghanaians who wanted to use the same route to enter Europe. He said government is still awaiting the findings of an enquiry initiated by the Gambia authorities to unravel the circumstances that led to the gunning down of eight Ghanaians before it take its decision. According to him, the whole incident could have avoided if the victims and many other now missing had followed normal procedure.

On whether or not government is going to grant madam Gizelle an extension of her visa to enable her come into the country to prove her allegations, The deputy minister advised her to go through the normal process of attaining visas underscoring that government is not going to treat her special.
