Trashy Bags Company to assist in combating malaria

Accra, April 25, GNA- Trashy Bags Company Limited, a plastic waste recycling firm, is to assist five communities along the coastal area of the Volta Region, to combat malaria with 1,000 mosquito nets. Mr Kwabena Osei Bonsu, Chief Executive of the company said this in Accra on Friday, during the celebrations marking World Malaria Day.

He mentioned the beneficiary communities as Anum, Dodze Island, Benti Kope, Kpalime, Dodi Asantekrom and Dzemeni. He said the company had come out with a musical CD album on malaria to sensitize the public on the need to maintain environmental cleanliness.

Mr Osei Bonsu said the CD would be sold and the proceeds used in supporting the campaign against the eradication of malaria. He said the company would also hold sensitization programmes for women groups, as its contribution towards the campaign.

Mr Osei Bonsu appealed to all to develop the habit of cleanliness so that the disease would be eliminated. He said his company would continue supporting the National Malaria Control Programme in their efforts to control malaria.
