Training for police drivers starts in Accra

Accra Sept. 29, GNA – The Ghana Police Service on Monday opened a training seminar for police drivers to upgrade their skills to help reduce the number of accidents involving service vehicles. The first batch of 50 drivers drawn from the Greater-Accra Region would undergo training for five days in English Language, service and traffic regulations. Nana Owusu Nsiah, Inspector General of Police (IGP) said service instructions provided for the training of the drivers. He said following recent spate of accidents, which involved police vehicles, there was the need to organize a training seminar for the drivers to enable them improve upon their professional driving skills. The IGP urged the drivers to take their lessons seriously to make the best out of the opportunity.
