Tragedy hits Agona Swedru

A 48-year-old bread seller at Agona Swedru, Ama Sarah, met her untimely death when a KIA truck fully loaded with bags of rice and sugar, ran over her killing her instantly.

The tragic accident occurred at the Total Filling Station at Agona Swedru, where the Kia truck from Akim Oda developed a break failure and in the process, hit the deceased who was sitting behind her bread.

A source at the Agona Swedru Divisional Command of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, told newsmen that Madam Sarah in an attempt to ran for life fell down when her attire entangled her legs.

The source said Ms Sarah was pronounced dead soon on arrival at the Agona Swedru Municipal Government Hospital.

According to the source, Sarah had sold the bread at the spot for more than 17 years.

The source said it took police personnel on motor checks near the filling station a hectic time to remove her mutilated body from the truck.

The source said the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Agona Swedru Hospital morgue for autopsy, while police Investigations continue.
