Traditional council leads the way to bring progress

The Tafo Traditional Council is leading the way to bring progress to the Tafo sub-metropolitan area as it rallies the people to pull together to promote change.

Nana Agyen Frimpong II, the Tafohene, said they need to take responsibility “to make things happen”.

He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the council would be convening a stakeholders meeting early next month to discuss solutions to problems affecting the quality of life of the people.

It would provide the blueprint for addressing weaknesses of the sub-metropolitan council and strengthen its performance.

Nana Frimpong said they would be focusing on reliable data collection, revenue collection, poor waste management, security and traffic control.

He expressed concern about the complete disregard for regulations on physical development, something, which was fuelling the erection of illegal structures.

The ultimate goal is to get the area elevated into a municipality and for that matter they are determined to get things properly organised.

Nana Agyen said through its own resources, the traditional council is building a community centre complex, which on completion, would have conference rooms, visitors’ accommodation, information communication centre (ICT) and space for funerals among other facilities.
