Trader remanded for dealing in narcotics

Accra, July 27, GNA – A trader in whose possession the Police found 99 wrappers of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp was on Wednesday remanded in prison custody by a Greater-Accra Regional Tribunal.

The plea of Monica Sosa was not taken and she is to re-appear before the tribunal on August 19, this year. The facts of the case as narrated to the three-member tribunal by the Prosecution were that on July 22, this year, acting upon a tip-off, the Police conducted a search at Sosa’s shop at the Madina Estates and found the dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
