Trader on 25 million cedis bail for stealing

Cape Coast, July 23, GNA – A circuit court at Cape Coast on Friday granted Isaac Ekow Atabrah, a trader, 25 million cedis bail with two sureties to be justified for stealing 11 million cedis belonging to one Madam Mary Mensah.

He pleaded not guilty and would reappear on August 2. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Augustine Amonoo told the court that five years ago Mad Mensah gave Atabrah a Mitsubishi Lancer salon car to sell.

Atabrah sold the vehicle for 5 million cedis and Madam Mensah added 6 million cedis to enable him to buy her another vehicle.

After collecting the money Atabrah was not seen again until last week when he was spotted at his father’s funeral at Cape Coast and was arrested.

The court also remanded Kofi Amuzu, 23-year-old driver, for allegedly stealing a Mitsubishi Galloper belonging to one Madam Efua Hopper.

He pleaded not guilty and would reappear on August 2. Amuzu allegedly stole the car from Mad Hooper’s House at Adisadel Estates on January 05.
