Trader on 20 million cedis bail for causing harm

Juaso(Ash), May 10, GNA – Fatima Fuseini, a-22-year old trader has been granted bail in the sum of 20 million cedis by the Juaso circuit court for allegedly causing harm to one Adamu. She pleaded not guilty to the charge and would re-appear before the court on May 11.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Isaac Owusu Dompreh told the court presided over by Mr. Jacob Boon that both the accused and the complainant are traders.

Ha said for sometime there had been a rift between the accused and her two friends on one side and the complainant on the other hand on suspicion that the complainant was having an affair with the husband of one of the accused person’s friends.

The prosecutor said on April 19, the accused and her two friends were walking along the Konongo railway line when they met the complainant and started casting insinuations but she did not react.

In the evening of the same day the accused, who sells fried yam, was peeling some tubers of yam when the complainant stormed her work place and slapped her three times in the face.

The accused fought back and in the process stabbed the complainant in the left eye and head with the knife she was using to peel the yam. He said the complainant sustained deep cuts, bled profusely and was taken to the Agogo Presbytarian Hospital where she is on n admission. 10 May 07
