Tourism attractions in Keta and Amedzofe to be developed

Ho, July 10, GNA – The Keta Platinum Seaside Resort and Marina, consisting of a variety of untapped tourism attractions in the Keta district and the Amedzofe Mountain area will be developed into international tourism attractions, officials said on Thursday. Speaking at the meet-the-press series in Ho on Thursday, Mr Kofi Dzamesi, Volta Regional Minister, said the two projects would cost 200 million dollars.

He said Westcentral City International Airport Limited, a Ghanaian-German consortium would implement the project, in collaboration with the Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council and its 18 District and Municipal Assemblies.

Mr Dzamesi said the project was part of an overall tourism development package being worked on by German Consulting Architects and Engineers to transform the tourism profile of the region into a destination of choice in Ghana.

Mr Dzamesi said there would be a cable car from Vane to Amedzofe up to Gemi Mountain in the Amedzofe area.
