Total blackout hits Volta region

Power is yet to be restored to major parts of the Volta region more than 12 hours after the region was hit by an unexpected outage Friday.

Many parts of the region have been without electricity supply since 4pm yesterday due to a fault at one of the GRIDCo transmission stations at Aksosombo, an official of the ECG told Starr News.

This has brought a lot of inconvenience to residents, especially the thousands of candidates writing the BECE.

The blackout crippled the candidates’ last-minute preparations for the Friday paper.
