TOR shuts down two processing units

Tema, March 01 GNA — The management of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) have, from Wednesday shut down the processing plants for maintenance work. A press release issued by the Public Affairs Manager, Mrs. Aba Lokko said the Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracker (RFCC) and the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) would be affected but the shut down but would be carried out one after the other.

Mrs. Lokko said the RFCC would shut down from Wednesday for the maintenance work through to the April 12 when it would resume operation to be followed by the CDU whose maintenance work would start on April 12 and expected to be ready for operation on May 24.

She assured the general public that measures have been put in place to ensure adequate and consistent supply of various products to the market so there should be no cause for alarm.

The release said arrangements have been made for adequate imported products to supplement TOR’s production during the shut down periods. According to her, about 300 casual workers have been engaged to assist the experts to work on the two projects.
