TOR shutdown operations

The management of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) on Saturday shutdown its operations due to the development of some technical faults in the refinery’s Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracker (RFCC) plant.

The shutdown occurred barely a fortnight after resuming operations from similar close down which was necessitated by maintenance work on the Crude Distribution Unit and the RFCC as well as lack of availability of crude oil.

Mrs Aba Lokko, Public Affairs Manager of TOR who confirmed the shutdown to the Ghana News Agency on Monday said engineers at the refinery were working around the clock to address the problem. Mrs Lokko gave the assurance that there was no cause for panic since management and staffs of the refinery were working hard to ensure that the Bulk Client Supply unit regularly supplied the country with the needed daily fuel. However, she could not tell when the refinery would resume operations.
