TOR denies oil leakage

Tema, July 11, GNA – Management of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has denied that there was serious oil leakage from one of its pipelines at the plant.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency on telephone on Tuesday, Mrs Aba Lokko, Public Affairs Manager, explained that security personnel at TOR, who were on their usual rounds, last Sunday evening, detected a pinhole on one of the pipelines.

She said, when this was reported, staffs of the Maintenance Section went immediately into action to seal the hole up, adding; =93there were just little drops’. Mrs Lokko said, nothing pierced through the pipelines nor was there any burst, rather the small perforation was caused by the heat from the scorching sun. She said there was no cause for alarm, as the situation had been rectified. 11 July 06
