TOR awards former Tema Regional Commander

Tema, Feb. 23, GNA – The Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) on Tuesday awarded the former Police Regional Commander, Mrs Agnes Sikanartey, for her support to the company throughout her years in office.

At a short ceremony in Tema, they presented to her a gold necklace with her name inscribed on it, Kente cloth, cash and allocation of 30 gallons of petrol per month for the whole of the year 2005.

The Director of the Refinery, Mr Kofi Kodua Sarpong doing the presentation acknowledged the good work Mrs Sikanartey did for the Refinery and the good relationship it had with the police during her term.

He recounted instances like strikes by tanker drivers and workers, and other crimes like fuel siphoning, where the police was called in to assist and hoped her successor will give them the same support and maintained that good relationship that existed between them. Mrs Sikanartey on her part expressed her sincere gratitude to TOR for the honour done her and hoped the award will also encourage other police officers to put in their best in the job. She hoped the Refinery and other companies in Tema would also support her successor in diver’s ways to help combat crime in the Municipality.
