Too many mistakes – Martey tells Akufo-Addo

“There are too many mistakes” in the young government of President Nana Akufo-Addo, ex-Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Prof Emmanuel Martey, has said.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the Christ Apostolic College in Kumasi over the weekend, Prof Martey, who was a harsh critic of the Mahama administration in the past, condemned what he described as festering corruption in the Akufo-Addo government where some government officials are extorting money from prospective Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

He says though President Akufo-Addo anti-corruption’s stance and ethics are well-known, his appointees appear to be at variance with his character.

“Minimise your mistakes,” he said, adding Ghana must not be taken backwards but rather forward.
