Togolese immigration officials commend Ghana

Accra, June 25, GNA – Togolese immigration officials at major entry points, have commended Ghana for introducing biometric passports as a positive development to resolve problems associated with acquisition of Ghanaian passports. A statement issued in Accra on Friday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration said some of the problems cited were falsification, photo-substitution and illegal acquisition by non-Ghanaians, hitherto associated with the old ones.

It said the officials also expressed satisfaction that the biometric passports facilitated scrutiny on account of their enhanced security features. However, the statement said, the officials noted with concern quality of the digital photographs on the new passports that had been blurred by minute brownish spots on the images.
