Togo to close border

Aflao (Volta Region) – Togo will close its side of the border with Ghana at Aflao on Monday 28 October. According to Togo National Radio monitored at Aflao, the measure was to ensure smooth running of the elections that five opposition parties said they would boycott because the playing ground was uneven.

When contacted, a Ghana Immigration Service source at Aflao said they had heard of the impending closure of the Togolese side of the border but the service had not been informed officially. – The Ghanaian Times
