Togbe Fiti says chiefs should serve as role models

Aflao, Jan. 2, GNA – Togbe Amenya Fiti IV, Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, has appealed to chiefs to serve as role models for the people as the nation prepares for its 50th independence anniversary. He said as the nation reaches its age of maturity, citizens ought to change their attitude and discard negative tendencies that tended to retard progress.

“We must respect our motto of ‘Freedom and Justice’ by avoiding bad conducts including violation of people’s rights, disrespect for the rule of law and lack of fellow feeling,” Togbe Amenya Fiti said in a New Year message. He appealed to the government to pay attention to structures at the Aflao border and to reconstruct the Sogakope/Aflao portion of the ECOWAS Highway to give visitors a good image of the country.
