Tobinco CEO arrested

The Chief Executive Officer of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Mr. Samuel Amo Tobin, is reported to be in the grips of the police service.

The arrest comes after some confrontations between officials of EOCO and workers of Tobinco when they attempted to close down one of the company’s facilities at Spintex in Accra.

Meanwhile hundreds of Tobinco workers and well wishers have beseeched the premises of the Nima police station demanding justification for his arrest.

Until recentseeminglyinco Pharmaceuticals Limited and the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) have been engaged in a series of heated debates which sparked public uproar.

It took the intervention of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health to intervene in the company’s disagreements with the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to end the media war.
