TMA presents relief items to fire disaster victims

Tema, April 30, GNA – Mr. Robert Kempes Papa Nii Ofosuware, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), on Thursday presented relief items worth 70,000 Ghana Cedis to victims of the recent Tema Manhean gas explosion, in Tema.

The items included 200 bags of cement, 200 mattresses, 200 roofing sheets, 300 mats, 400 blankets, 100 bags of rice, 50 bags of maize, 40 cartons of cooking oil, and four bales of used clothing. Mr Ofosuware said the Assembly was footing the hospital bills of the victims.

He asked residents of the Tema Metropolis to co-operate with the Assembly in its bid to adopt preventive measures to forestall occurrence of disasters.

Mr. Wisdom Gadasu, Assembly member of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly, received the items and thanked the donors for the gesture. Hajia Zenabu Abdulai, Metropolitan Co-ordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation promised to educate the residents on environmental cleanliness and disasters prevention and management.
