Thunder kills NPP organizer

Information reaching DAILY GUIDE, yesterday, indicated that thunder had struck to death Richard Amamu, the Ekumfi Constituency Deputy Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region.

The body, according to information, has since been buried in accordance with the tradition of the Islamic faith.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE on the tragedy, Deputy Central Regional Women Organizer of the NPP, Madam Agnes Owusu, said the 40-year-old man worked with the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) District National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and stayed at Ekumfi Essiakyir.

Madam Owusu hinted that the incident happened on Monday at dawn, when there was a heavy downpour.

She added that the deceased’s brother, who witnessed the horrific incident, rushed him to the Apam Catholic Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

DAILY GUIDE gathered that many party top notches and supporters trooped to the area to mourn with the bereaved family.

They included the Member of Parliament (MP) for Essikado Katan in the Western Region, Joe Ghartey; regional and constituency executives of the party, among others.
