‘Thunder’ is not with Veep

Accra, July 27, GNA – The Office of the Vice President has noted with concern reports in some media that seek to connect the victim of an armed robbery incident which occurred in East Legon on the night of Wednesday July 26 July 2006 to the Office of the Vice President as a driver.

The Office of the Vice President wishes to state categorically that the victim of the unfortunate incident by name Abubakar Seidu a.k.a “Abouba Thunder” has never been a member of staff in the Office of the Vice President as a driver or in any other capacity.

A statement signed by Mr Yaw Buaben Asamoa, Senior Special Aide to the Vice President, said: “At this time of pain to the bereaved family we will expect media commentary to be sensitive and restrained.”
