Three Wanted For Roko’s Murder

Three people have been declared wanted by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service in connection with the murders of Mr Roko Frimpong, Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Commercial Bank, and Mr Kwartey Quartey, a retired staff of the Public Works Department.

They are Tahiru Adams (alias Augantey), Jonathan Abi (alias Joe) or Oboy and Attah Kakra (alias Kariyansu).

The three are suspected to be among a gang of seven, four of whom have already been arrested by the police. They are believed to be hiding at Ashaiman, Tema, Nungua or Agbogbloshie, all in the Greater Accra Region, Agona Swedru in the Central Region and Takoradi in the Western Region.

Briefing the press in Accra yesterday, ACP Charles Tokor, Director of CID Operations, described the three wanted men as “desperate and deadly with weapons,” adding that “anyone harbouring them is putting his or her life at great risk.”

He said the police has set aside a Gh¢ 2000 (¢20 million) reward for anyone with information leading to their arrest, and appealed to the public, to immediately provide the police with the relevant information.

Mr. Frimpong and Mr. Quartey, both residents of Tema, were murdered in their homes on June 19 and July 17 respectively by armed gangs.
