Three vehicles involved in motor accident at Pankrono

Pankrono (Ash) Oct. 20, GNA – About 37 people escaped unhurt when three vehicles on which they were travelling bumped into each other at Pankrono near Kumasi on the Kumasi-Tamale high way at about 11 am on Monday. The three vehicles were Nissan mini bus with registration number AS 2254 Z travelling from Mampong to Kumasi, Mazda Saloon Car with registration number AS 8429 R from Kumasi to Nsuta, and 207 Benz bus with registration number AS 7189 Y which was travelling from Wiamoase near Jamasi to Kumasi. The three drivers involved were Mr Isaac Dwomoh, who was driving the Toyota mini bus, Mr Ofori Boadi, an Officer at Sekyere Central District Assembly, who was the driver of the Saloon, and Mr Attah Yaw, driver of the 207 bus. Mr Ofori Boadi was trapped behind the steering wheel when his vehicle rammed into the mini bus head-on, but on lookers quickly rushed to the scene and removed him after forcibly opening the vehicle door. The cause of the accident was not immediately known, but according to eye witnesses, the Saloon car first bumped into the 207 bus, skidded off his side of the road before colliding into the Toyota Mini bus. A report was immediately made to the Police, but by the time of going to the press, the Police had yet to go to the scene. 21 Oct. 08
