Three teenagers arrested for Eid shooting

Three teenagers have been arrested by the Manhyia Divisional Police Command in the Ashanti region for their involvement in the shooting of one Osman Abdulai Karim during a street Jam.

On Tuesday June 27, 2017, during the Eid Ul Fitr celebrations, a group of Muslim youth were having fun at Manhyia Bonjour, a popular hangout when some unidentified young men on a motorbike stormed the place and fired a locally manufactured pistol at the celebrants hitting one of them in the head.
The unidentified group sped off after the incident that led to the death of Osman Abdul Karim.

After weeks of investigations, three suspects, Suleman Musah, 19, Abdulai Umar, 18 and Lawson Hubert Joli, 19 were arrested by the Manhyia Police.

Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Ken Yeboah addressing the media said all the three suspects after the incident went into hiding until their arrest on Tuesday.

According to DCOP Ken Yeboah, Suleman Musah confessed to have personally fired the shot which killed Abdul Karim in the head with a locally made pistol.
Musah claimed to have bought the pistol from one Fuseni now at large for Three Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHC300).

Musah narrated that a scuffle ensued between him and one Shatta a couple of months before the incident at Bonjour. Musah also revealed to the Police that he bought the pistol to attack Shatta in revenge after a tip off that he [shatta] would be at the street jam.

“All the three suspects, Suleman Musah, Abdulai Karim and Lawson Hubert Joli are in police custody assisting in investigation whilst efforts are being made to arrest Fuseni,” DCOP Yeboah said.
