Three remanded for possessing firearms

A Bibiani Circuit Court presided over by Justice Emmanuel Ankamah has remanded three persons into prison custody for illegally possessing firearms and military accoutrement.

Enock Musah, Alinda Wudu and Salim Adam were caught by the police with two pistols, 19 live cartridges, face mask, military jacket and camouflage round neck “T’ shirt.

Their pleas were not taken and were remanded to reappear on April 17.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raymond Erzuah told the court that the accused were arrested on March 27, by police officers on duty at the Sefwi-Ewiase Revenue Checkpoint.

A taxi, carrying them and one other person, now on the run, had pulled up at the checkpoint at about 1900 hours and a search of the vehicle uncovered the items.

They were subsequently apprehended.
