Three persons died in motor accident at Osino

Osino (E/R), Aug. 18, GNA – Two drivers and a passenger died on the spot and eight others seriously injured, when three vehicles were involved in an accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway at Osino, early Wednesday morning.

The drivers were identified as Kwame Tonye, driver of vehicle number GT 9516 U and the other, popularly called M. C, a driver of O & A Travel and Tour bus, number GT 2423 J.

The injured passengers, including the unidentified driver of a saloon car, GT 9516 U, had been rushed to the Kyebi Government Hospital. According to an eyewitness, Mr John Kyeremeh, an Osino-based driver, he heard a loud bang at dawn behind his house and when he came out, he saw that it was an accident involving a tipper truck number AS 295 W conveying cement blocks, a bus and a saloon car. He said the tipper truck hit the back of the saloon car, which was trapped under the bus with its unidentified driver. The Osino police confirmed the accident and said investigations were on-going.
