Three Legon SRC Executives removed

Accra, March 9, GNA – The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Legon has directed that the President, Vice President and Treasurer of the Students Representative Council (SRC) be removed from office for misappropriation of funds.

A letter dated March 8, 2004 and circulated by the Acting Director of the University of Ghana Public Affairs Directorate, said the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Asenso Okyere has directed that the SRC President Mr Peter Nana Asiedu, Vice-President Mr George Okwei Noi and Treasurer, Miss Rosemary Adutwumwaa, who were involved in the mismanagement of the SRC finances, be removed from office with effect from March 1, 2004.

An interim SRC Executive with Miss Carlotta Agyeman-Bannerman, SRC Secretary as Acting President, and Junior Common Room (JCR) Presidents of the various halls on campus has been formed. The Vice-Chancellor said all official SRC business should be channelled through the Interim Executive members.
