Three in custody for stealing

Accra, Jan. 29, GNA – Three persons who unlawfully broke into a businessman’s residence and stole items worth more than nine million cedis were remanded into Police custody by an Accra Circuit Court on Thursday.

They were: Kwabena Boateng, a Construction Labourer, Jacob Brake, Electronics Technician and Emmanuel Koi Abredu, Student. Their pleas were not taken, and they would re-appear on February 5.

The Court, presided over by Mr Williewise Kyeremeh, said accused were not admitted to bail because of the fear that they might interfere with Police investigations.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Bennett Sarfo told the Court that the Businessman on January 15 travelled and left his house in the care of Boateng.

When he returned the following day he detected that his home had been burgled and on investigation the accused were arrested.

The Prosecution said the accused stole electronic gadgets and personal effects and 4,000 Euros, 500,000 CFA francs and 1.5 million cedis belonging to one Mr Daniel Musa.
